Social event

The social event of the workshop will comprise two parts: First we visit “Kiek in de Kök“, one of the most famous of the 26 (of formerly 41) preserved Towers of the City Wall (1,85 km of 2,35 km preserved). From here, we will have a marvellous view onto the roofs of the houses in the Old Town (and into the kitchens of the neighbour houses) and get a compact insight into the history and medieval structure of the city in the tower’s museum. From the Tower we will descent to the underworld of Tallinn where we will have a guided tour to the mysterious tunnels below the Old Town.
Afterwards, the workshop dinner takes place in one of the medieval houses (known as “Teachers’ House”) right at the Town Hall Square, where you can experience the atmosphere of the location with an aperitif in your hand from the dining hall of the house. After the dinner evening, we offer an optional nightly walk to the Dome Hill of Tallinn which as a completely different flair than the lower hansatic merchant town.
